ELEANOR ROOSEVELT

"Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure."

The driven damsel is an empowered woman driven by her values in pursuit of her vision. One driven woman I find inspiring is Eleanor Roosevelt, an American political figure, diplomat and philanthropist, also known as the longest-serving First Lady of the United States. She joined the New York Junior League expressing her desire to dedicate her time to worthwhile endeavors and to serve alongside other remarkable women making a difference in her community, creating an impact and legacy that lives on to this day. Her life story was one of the reasons I decided to join my local Junior League to serve my community. I love helping others in a meaningful way where I can.

On character building, she said "Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure. You have no security unless you can live bravely, excitingly, imaginatively; unless you can choose a challenge instead of competence. People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously." I believe what she said to be true. The intention behind creating this destination on the internet is to inspire others while creating content that keeps me fueled and energized, to genuinely share my thoughts about the products and places that I have experienced and to allow me to connect with like-minded women who find me here.

what does it mean to be driven ?

"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience."

This passion project has been on my mind for a while. There are so many extraordinary women that I draw inspiration from. More than ever, I aspire to live my life to the fullest: enjoy every experience, create joy and share what I love with others.

One woman who inspired me personally was my grandmother Evelyn, an elegant lady who always carried herself with grace and poise. She was one of those earth angels living amongst us. I had the great fortune of her coming to live with my family when I was only in middle school. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer and lymphoma, my grandmother became not just a roommate but my very best friend. One life lesson I learned from her was to never stop looking forward to whatever's next. Each day is a gift.
